La’Toyur S. Tisdale is an author, poet, consultant, and community advocate committed to empowering others to heal, build, lead — and leave a legacy.
She is the Founder of YUR Legacy™, a transformational platform dedicated to personal growth, leadership development, and generational impact. Through its sister brand and consulting arm, Divine Development Consultation Services, La’Toyur provides strategic guidance, development consulting, and faith-centered growth solutions for individuals and emerging leaders ready to expand their influence.
Her entrepreneurial journey began in 2005 with the launch of YUR Magazine, an online publication created to amplify creative voices and inspire community engagement. Through YUR Magazine, she interviewed local Nashville artists and nationally recognized creatives including Def Poetry Jam artist Tasha Jones, actor Rashad Rayford, poet and actress Sherene Whitfield (The Help), and Bruce George, co-founder of HBO’s Def Poetry Jam.
In 2008, La’Toyur birthed “Poetic Pen,” a literary development initiative offering performance and writing workshops that attracted local, regional, and national artists. YUR Magazine was later nominated for the Southern Entertainment Awards “Online Magazine of the Year” and Soulfood Poetry Café’s “Trailblazer of the Year.”
Driven by purpose and service, La’Toyur has consistently used her platform to uplift others. In memory of her mother, Mrs. Virginia Woods Tisdale, she led “YUR Very Special Christmas” and “Love YUR Self” initiatives supporting residents of the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. She later co-founded the Community Take Back Initiative, focused on youth empowerment and mentorship.
La’Toyur is the author of Pieces of Me For You: A Revised Collection of Poetry, Special: A Collection of Poetry, YUR Healing: A Journey to Wholeness & Grace, and contributing author of Power in Heels. Her work centers on healing, reflection, and intentional growth.
She has served as a speaker at Vanderbilt University, a leadership board member for the American Negro Playwright Theatre, and continues to serve in various community leadership roles. Currently, she serves as Director of Communications and Programs for the World AfriCultural Community Project (WACCP).
Now based in Las Vegas, Nevada, La’Toyur continues to expand her impact through authorship, consulting, and transformative initiatives designed to cultivate purpose-driven legacy.
